Q: What type of musick do you consider DIABOLICAL?
A: Death Metal.
Q: How long has DIABOLICAL been around?
A: Since 1996. Although we've exsisted under the name Diabolical since 1998.
Q: What is your political and religious beliefs?
A: We are a non political band and we don't believe in anything except the
Metal of Death.
Q: What do you think of Christians?
A: What christians? Never heard of them...
Q: Have you heard of Aleister Crowley, and if so what do you think of his
writings?
A: Yes, I know of him. Although I have'nt read much of his writings, and I
don't know much of his philosophy either.
Q: What is behind the songs of DIABOLICAL?
A: I'm not so sure. So far I have'nt contributed to the songwriting
since I'm rather new in the band. Our songs so far are written by Vidar
W. and H.Carlsson.
Q: What is the imagery you are trying to convey thru the media you have
chosen?
A: We don't think so much about the imagery when we write our music. Our
goal is simply to write and play diabolical music. So logically the imagery that
comes along with it is diabolical.
Q: How many official releases does DIABOLICAL have?
A: Three.
Deserts of Desolation MCD from 2000. The albums Synergy (2001) and A Thousand Deaths
(2002).
Q: Has DIABOLICAL played live and if so with who and where?
A: We've been touring throughout Scandinavia and several European
countries since 2001 (Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Czech
Republic, Spain, Italy, France, Austria etc.). We've just finished a
European tour together with DEFLESHED and TAETRE. It was really successful and
we had a great time.
Q: What types of musick are your favorites? Bands and genres?
A: Lots of metal of course! Death metal, black metal, thrash metal. Right now
I'm listening to the new Metallica album, trying to figure out if
it's worth listening to at all. It's better than the last two
poo-albums, but I don't like the nu metal vibes. Hetfield is almost
rapping in the title track! Sigh...
Q: Any bands you toured/played live with that we should look out for?
A: Sure! I hope you're already familliar with DEFLESHED. You better look
out for them, or they'll grind you to death! And you should really beware
of TAETRE and their vicious frontman, the mad Dr.Lindblood. He's got hair
all over him, so look out!
Q: Are you or any of your members involved in side projects?
Q: I play in a band named ABSENTIA. H.Carlsson also plays in IN BATTLE. Vidar has
a side-project together with Tore Stjärnlöf of IN AETERNUM, called FEMICIDE.
M.Ödling has been involved in several other projects in the past but I don't think he's doing anything apart from DIABOLICAL right now. R.Persson plays in some other band too, I'm not sure what the band is
called though.
Q: What are your favorite art, books, movies, or TV-shows?
A: I'm not much into any fine arts besides music. I do read some books
though. For instance I like Clive Barker. His books can be really inspiring. One
all time favourite movie is Dellamorte Dellamore. It's not very
well-known but it's far better than most of the Hollywood crap that
people watch nowadays. It has everything a movie should have: Violence, death,
deep philosophy, sex and zombies. There's a TV-show that has all that
too, and that's South Park of course.
Q: What do we expect soon from DIABOLICAL?
A: We'll be playing at some more festivals this summer: Smack Rockfestival
here in Sweden, Kaltenbach Open Air in Austria, Obscene Extreme in the Czech
Republic and Brutal Assault in Czech Republic too. We have new material for the
next album which we'll probably record by the end of the year. So stay
