Q: Where did Panzer Division get the name,What does it mean,and Why did you choose that name? A: I derived Panzer Division from my interest in World War 2, and how the German tank divisions dominated the war front. Some people would translate Panzer Division as Armor Division, or Tank Division. I chose this name for its ferocity and power ( by the way it has nothing to do with Marduk ) I get alot of Marduk references, I believe because he named one of his albums "Panzer Division Marduk". Q: What type of music do you consider Panzer Division? A: Its a bit grueling to try to categorize my music, since I like to experiment with different types of sounds and measures. I try to blur noise, industrial, ebm all into a massive package of sound. Q: How long has Panzer Division been around? A: I've been making music since 1998, self producing my own releases from my little home workstation. Q: Do you live in Russia,and if so what is it like? A: I wouldnt know! I live in America. I rode on a bus as a child though, throughout Europe and I saw a little bit of Russia. My father was an Officer, and I spent 4 years in Europe. I remember it being very cold there, and a lot of open land. I guess you think I live in Russia, coming from my Russian reroute server. I chose this reroute server for its simplicity and to get more traffic from Russia coming to my site. Noise is popular in Russia, or so I hear. Q: What is your political and religious beliefs? A: You could consider me "independent," as I do not affiliate myself with democratic or republican ideals. I do not recognize any God. Q: What do you think of Christians? A: I heard they made good lion food. Q: What is behind the songs of Panzer Division, What are they about? A: The songs meanings differ from each album, some dealt with the futility of war, family cohesion, electronic components of a radio, and the distortion of reality. Q: How many official releases does Panzer Division have? A: I have released 6 self produced albums, and I have 2 upcoming releases on labels. One is a Canadian label called Dark Black Music Records. The other is Annihilvs Q: Has Panzer Division played live, and if so with who? A: I recently opened for Klangstabil in Philadelphia with Navicon Torture Technologies. I received a great welcome, and I plan to play there again. Right now I am going to college, so its hindering my live performances this fall / winter. I am going to try to get a winter break tour going on the East coast with Annihilvs Records (Navicon Torture Technologies ), but only time will tell if I can get it going. Q: How many people are in Panzer Division currently? A: 1 person. Myself ( Paul ) I tried to incorporate a live band, but it fell through. Q: How old are you? A: I am 22 years old. My birthday is in March, buy me something. Q: What types of music are your favorites? Bands and genres? A: I enjoy music as a form of art. I respect all music for its form of expression, but I didn't say I want to listen to it all. Q: What is the local scene around you like? A: My local scene isn't electronically friendly ( Newark, Delaware ). Its mainly overrun with pseudo punk rock bands, and is the home to Boy Sets Fire, a popular almost mainstream band. Q: Are you or any of your members involved in side projects? A: I have a couple tricks up my sleeves. You'll see. Q: What are your favorite movies, or TV shows? A: Ah, I could talk about this FOREVER, FOREVER, FOREVER ( the sandlot ). I enjoy film the most out of all of the arts. There is so much expression in film, opposed to music. I could see myself as an actor in the future, but maybe that's just a pipe dream. Im a big fan of comedies: King Pin, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Billy Madison, Office Space, The Big Lebowski. Drama/Action: Being John Malkovich, Dancer in the Dark ( a Bjork film ), Full Metal Jacket, Black Hawk Down.... I could list hundreds more, but I wont waste more time on this subject.
